Event: RA Now at the Royal Academy
Location: Royal Academy, W1
The Royal Academy’s RA Now exhibition shows the work of current academicians, who have all been invited to donate work to raise funds for a new RA building project at Burlington Gardens.
It is the first time that art by all the current Royal Academicians has been shown together and so is a rare chance to see the range of art that represents the RA in 2012.
The works on show include art by Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley and Grayson Perry, exhibited alongside honorary Royal Academicians (those not resident in the UK) Frank Gehry, Cindy Sherman and Anselm Keifer among others.
There are artworks by 121 artists on show for a month at the gallery, all for sale. The exhibition has been curated by RA artist Allen Jones, a member of the Academy for 26 years.
The Royal Academy is also showing the exhibition Bronze in its main galleries until 9 December.
