Event: Wind in the Willows at the Royal Opera House
Location: Royal Opera House, WC2
The Royal Ballet’s theatrical version of The Wind in the Willows is a sweet adaption of Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale, performed by a cast of former Royal Ballet stars.
Guest artist Will Tuckett’s production is a mixture of dance and narration (by former poet laureate Andrew Motion. The show begins with Mole appearing from a rolled up carpet, blinking in the lights, eventually taking out a length of blue striped cloth that becomes the river on which so much of the story is set.
This is the 10th anniversary of the show, which was first performed in 2002 and Will Kemp, the original Ratty from 2002, is back in the role this year.
The show is on in the Royal Opera House’s Linbury Studio Theatre.
