'Enchanting instillation' to open in London
Date: 06 Feb - 02 Mar 10
Event: The Bibliomancer's Dream
Location: The Southbank Centre
An "enchanted instillation" which requires visitor participation is to open in central London this weekend.
The
Southbank Centre on the banks of the
River Thames is to open its doors to
The Bibliomacer's Dream from 6th February to 3rd March. The special event represents an opportunity for guests of the nearby
five star Connaught hotel to experience an alternative day out in the city.
Visitors to the exhibition, which is to be held in
The Front Room and
Queen Elizabeth Hall at the venue, will be asked to pick one book from a collection of hundreds and recite a random line or verse.
Alinah Azadeh and
Willow Winston, the artists behind the instillation, said the act will provide answers to visitor's questions and inspire their imaginations.
According to organisers of the event, the installation is "inspired by the ancient ritual of
Bibliomancy - the art of divining the future with books".
