London to host word festival

Visitors to London this year will be able to attend a number of events which are set to be staged as part of the city's Word Festival.

The series of events are to be held at various locations throughout the city between 7th March and 1st April. Guests of the five star Connaught hotel will be able to take advantage of the new Aman Spa while the concierge takes care of any travel arrangments for the events.

London Word Festival is an annual event which was established in 2007. According to organisers of the event, the festival is a "pioneering, annual celebration of words, text and language; daring in its approach to cross-art form programming, commissioning new work and exploring non-traditional spaces".

This year's event kicks off with an event called The Chip Shop at the Toynbee Studio Arts centre on 7th March. Visitors to the venue will be able to see a screen printing machine made up like a fully-functioning chip shop producing words printed on wooden boards.

A series of other events including stand up comedy, poetry readings, music and plays will also be staged throughout the festival.
