Actress to switch casts of West End shows

A West End actress is set to leave the cast of one hit show in order to join another next month.

Diane Pilkington is to vacate her current role in the musical Wicked to take up three parts in The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre from 26th April. The centrally-located venue is just a short taxi ride away from the five star Connaught hotel, where guest can enjoy luxury after-show drinks at the Coburg Bar upon their return from the show.

Pilkington, who currently plays Glinda in the musical prequel to the Wizard of Oz, is set to play Annabella Schmidt, Margaret and Pamela in The 39 Steps, which is based on a John Buchan novel and an Alfred Hitchcock movie of the same name. The play tells the story of a man's dull London life, which is spiced up when a murder occurs in his apartment.

Jeremy Swift, Timothy Speyer and David Bark-Jones are also set to form part of an all-new cast for the show.
