    • Out and about in London

Recommended by our very own General Manager Nathalie Seiler-Hayez

The singular charms of Mayfair seem ageless, and yet every year I discover something that makes London – especially our very smart village – that little bit more unique and surprising.

From getting truly close to the world’s most beautiful art at the Cork Street Galleries to visiting global fashion superstars (Marc Jacobs, Goyard and Christian Louboutin have all opened up new boutiques on Mount Street) and the big hitters of Bond Street, it’s shopping heaven at one of London’s most exciting cultural hubs.

      Royal Academy of Arts

Right on our doorstep, there’s the Royal Academy of Arts, which offers the first ever full retrospective of Manet’s work, bringing together a terrific collection of paintings from all over the world. Plus to get there you go right past Burlington Arcade and Savile Row, so there are a few discreet shopping opportunities en route – a chance to stock up on Berk cashmere, bespoke spectacles or some new Globetrotter luggage.

      British Museum

A short walk or a quick cab will take you to the British Museum for ‘Life and Death in Pompeii and Herculaneum’, a major exhibition that could be just the thing to give you culture you can take at your own pace.

      The Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House plays host to Verdi’s triumphant Nabucco (30 March – 26 April). Daniele Abbado’s production promises to be immense, boasting an enormous chorus and Placido Domingo making a major role debut, as he sings the title role for the first time.

And if you’d rather keep a low profile, well, we’ve got special cocktails over Easter, couture cakes (Connaught splendour) and lots more – not to mention the martini trolley for a truly bespoke experience.
