One bedroom Sutherland Suite
Designer Guy Oliver crafted the Sutherland Suites to emphasise the grandeur of the 30-feet long, high ceilinged drawing rooms.
Period charm and modern technology
Each suite brings to mind the gallery of an English stately home. They are decorated with astonishing artwork, from striking paintings of exotic birds to the tranquil Portrait of a Lady.
A period chimneypiece, ebony writing table and ornate bookcases complete the picture – into which every modern technology blends effortlessly.
Historic ambience
Hand-carved in Italy and France, the bedroom furniture in your Sutherland Suite is perfectly in keeping with the rich, historic ambience.
The en-suite bathroom is a place to relax in opulence, fitted out in warm fleur de peche marble and equipped with a 17” LCD television.
The Pianist’s piano
Before coming to the Connaught, the Steinway grand piano in the Piano Sutherland suite belonged to famed Jewish-Polish pianist Władysław Szpilman. Szpilman’s astonishing survival of the holocaust formed the basis for the Oscar-winning film The Pianist.
