Suites & rooms

The feeling of intimacy is projected throughout the Connaught in its careful attention to classical and contemporary detail. The residential-styled suites and rooms have been refurbished by leading interior designer, Guy Oliver, who has a particular interest in period renovation including the well-proportioned characteristics adhered to by the Adam-style of interiors: formality, symmetry and simplicity.

The gravitas of the interiors have been maintained, while, at the same time, modern statements have fitted in with stylish ease. A refreshed palette of period colours, such as peppermint green with silver leaf and Edwardian-slate, adorn the walls, while gilt mirrors and period oil paintings have been spectacularly restored. Soft furnishings, such as flattering damask silk curtains, frame many of the wide windows, while striking furniture, both bespoke and inherited, has been fitted to suit the individual style of each room and suite.

The bold white bathrooms have been interpreted using the finest natural materials, such as the striking Grecian Thassos marble that reflects both cleanliness and purity. The solid nickel taps and built in vanity units are gentle references to the 'Deco period, while the flat-screen televisions above the large enamelled, cast iron baths are a luxurious reminder of today’s cosseting technology.
