The London Classic Car Show 2018

The London Classic Car Show revs up February with some of the classiest and most historic cars on the planet being put through their paces on the show’s indoor catwalk, the Grand Avenue.

This is the event’s fourth outing and this year’s line-up includes 60 ‘specials’: one-offs created from the best of the best in motoring.

The headline act is the extraordinary pre-First World War Fiat S76, nicknamed the ‘Beast of Milan’. This towering, flame-spitting, Edwardian leviathan, which held the 1911 unofficial land speed record, has a gargantuan 28.5-litre engine. This is the first time the ‘Beast’ has been driven indoors, so it will be quite an spectacle — not to mention an assault on the ears! The rebuilding of the S76 has been a real labour of love by its owner, Duncan Pittaway, who found the derelict engine in a pile of old motor parts in the Fiat factory and managed to track down its chassis in a “pretty torrid” condition in Australia.

The Grand Avenue indoor motoring catwalk is one of the show’s big attractions, with a fashion parade of some of the world’s most desirable classic and vintage cars driving through the exhibition hall. This year there is also a rogue’s gallery of history’s greatest getaway cars – from Ronin to the Italian Job.
