Moulin Rouge! The Musical, is a stunning live take on Baz Luhrmann’s much-loved classic. A true spectacle, the show swept the board at the 74th annual Tony awards, picking up 10 awards including the coveted Best Musical. A decade in the making, it’s been quite a journey from screen to stage.

Like the 2001 original, the play charts the tale of aspiring writer Christian and cabaret dancer Satine as they fall in love, much to the dismay of the sinister Duke of Monroth. The stage show takes the movie’s original iconic songs and adds even more spectacle and surprises – weaving in new songs from Adele, Katy Perry, Sia, Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and more. In total there are 75 songs, credited to 165 songwriters, spanning 160 years of music history.

As well as unforgettable songs, be prepared for dazzling sets and sublime costumes from designer Catherine Zuber. And it wouldn’t be Moulin Rouge! without exhilarating dance routines courtesy of choreographer Sonya Tayeh. If you loved the original, this modern, savvy reinterpretation doesn’t put a foot wrong.
