Our location in Mayfair Village means we’re alongside craftsmen and women whose skills have been gathered over hundreds of years.
We meet with and learn from them – and travel widely – to bring the very best skills and knowledge back to the Connaught.
- We send our kitchen brigade across Carlos Place to brush up on their master butchery skills at Allen’s of Mayfair – the oldest butcher in London.
- The dedicated butlers here visit the workshop at John Lobb, boot makers by appointment, to understand how to revive tired brogues, spruce up suede or add extra lustre to a dress shoe. They get training in how to revive a tired iPad, too.
- Our Aman Spa team travel constantly to learn new therapies, specialist skills, and the latest treatments.
- Our sommeliers spend time in Champagne and Burgundy learning the secrets of wine production and appreciation.
- So they know what excellent service feels like, every member of staff has stayed at least one night in the hotel.
