    The Connaught Christmas Tree has been unveiled. Widely acclaimed British sculptor Antony Gormley has transformed a magnificent Western Red Cedar tree into a radiant festive installation.

    Meet our Christmas shopping expert

    As Christmas approaches, guests will be able to take advantage of the services of our Christmas shopping expert. She is leading lifestyle writer Fiona McCarthy, whose hot new insider's guidebook London Precincts has just been published, elegantly timed for Christmas. It offers an insight into London's most interesting shops, cultural hotspots and hidden gems, and has been an instant hit, filled to the brim with Fiona's stories of the city's most intriguing people and places. We're delighted that she has devised for The Connaught's guests a bespoke list of local shopping spots not to miss during your stay. In addition, she will be available in person on Saturday afternoons, by appointment, for individual consultations with guests.

     Sean Scully Sculpture on Carlos Place

    Sean Scully installation on Carlos Place

    A sculpture by renowned Irish artist Sean Scully is currently in place outside The Connaught. Scully's elegant yet imposing piece, entitled Tower, 2015, is exhibited for the first time in the UK on Carlos Place.

    The installation is in partnership with the neighbouring Timothy Taylor gallery, which is currently presenting Horizon, an exhibition of new paintings from Sean Scully’s Landline series (November 2 to December 17, 2016).

     Jean-Georges Vongerichten at The Connaught

    Jean-Georges Vongerichten to open new restaurant at The Connaught

    Internationally renowned French Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is to open a new restaurant at The Connaught in summer 2017.

    The restaurant, name yet to be confirmed, will be located at the front of the hotel with its sweeping views over Mount Street in the space formerly occupied by Espelette. Hélène Darroze will continue to operate her celebrated two-Michelin star restaurant on the other side of the hotel.  

    It will be a relaxed, informal style neighbourhood restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The restaurant will be designed by architect John Heah who has recently completed highly acclaimed work at The Berkeley.

    Agostino Perrone, our Director of Mixology, received the 'European Mixologist of the Year' award and the Connaught Bar was named 'European Bar of the Year' at the 2017 Mixology Bar Awards.

    To celebrate Bentley's heritage and innovation, Agostino Perrone, our Director of Mixology, put his own twist on the legendary Bentley Cocktail. A reinterpretation of this classic drink was exclusively available at the Connaught Bar during London Cocktail Week 2016.

    Hélène Darroze wins wine award

    We are delighted to announce that Hélène Darroze at The Connaught has won a prestigious 3-star award in World of Fine Wine’s 2016 ‘World's Best Wine List’. Over 4,500 wine lists from around the world were judged by a panel that included some of the world’s leading wine critics and sommeliers, such as Alder Yarrow, Elin McCoy, Ch’ng Poh Tiong, Andrew Jefford, Andreas Larsson, Francis Percival, and Editor Neil Beckett. Only 322 restaurants were recognised for the top-tier three-star award.

    To add to its list of accolades, the Connaught Bar has been awarded ‘Classiest Bar’ at the first ever Time Out Bar awards this year. Recognised for its perfect mix of great-tasting cocktails, vibrant music and ultra-stylish décor, the David Collins-designed bar has previously been named Best Bar at Virtuoso’s Best of the Best Awards in 2015 and listed in the top ten of The World's 50 Best Bars Awards in 2015.
